Mint-Tek Launches Product Design Competition(STEMblem) to Inspire Creativity and Innovation amongst Transition Year Students
The competition invites TY students from secondary schools across Galway to conceptualise and design a product – a St. Patrick’s Day themed emblem.
- Prize: €2500 worth of the winning team’s product, finalised, tested, and manufactured.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Mint-Tek, a product design company in Na Forbacha, is thrilled to announce the launch of its Product Design Competition, aimed at encouraging creativity, innovation, and interest in STEM among Transition Year students in Galway.
Designed to inspire the next generation of innovators, this competition, accompanied by a workshop, will encourage students who are interested in STEM and design to explore their creative side. During the workshop, speakers from Mint-Tek will cover essential topics, including the product design process, business planning, electronic design, and presentation skills.

The PorterShed, a tech hub in the heart of Galway aiming to help start-ups and entrepreneurs, is collaborating with Mint-Tek on this project. The PorterShed has extensive experience in engaging with young people and helping them implement their ideas.
