Last week, Mint-Tek had the privilege of attending the MIDAS Ireland Conference & Gala Dinner, a key gathering for leaders and innovators in the semiconductor industry. It was an inspiring day filled with insights, collaboration, and forward-thinking discussions about the future of this vital sector in Ireland.
One of the highlights was a panel hosted by Siobhán Ní Chofaigh, CEO and founder of Mint-Tek Circuits, who led an engaging conversation on “How to make progress on the Gender Diversity Challenges the sector faces.” The discussion focused on two critical topics:
- The future of the semiconductor industry in Ireland
- How to attract more women and young people into this dynamic field
Siobhán was joined by three incredible women from the industry:
- Brenda Barrett – Vice President Corporate Supply Chain, Customer Supply Chain Management, MD Infineon Ireland
- Kate Kelchner – Engineering Manager at Meta, Reality Labs Division
- Grace O’Malley – CTO at INEMI
The panelists spoke about how they first entered the industry, noting that for some, it was the challenge and complexity that drew them in. They all shared that their experiences have been overwhelmingly positive and emphasised that they would strongly recommend this sector to young people. With so much opportunity for growth and innovation, the semiconductor industry offers an exciting and rewarding career path.
The event was a great success, and we were thrilled to be part of such an important dialogue. It’s clear that collaboration and inclusivity will play a key role in shaping the next chapter of Ireland’s semiconductor story.
At Mint-Tek, we’re committed to supporting these efforts and continuing to champion innovation in technology.
